Guide elements or guide rings are available in different materials and are used to take up different lateral forces that can arise in a hydraulic cylinder. They also act as spacers to avoid metal-to-metal contact in the cylinder and thereby optimize the functionality of the cylinder. Common areas of application are various types of cylinders and other hydraulic and pneumatic systems in construction machinery, agriculture, construction and trucks, etc. Guide elements in PTFE is of special importance for applications where friction must be minimized.
